Day 24: Drive back to Lake Powell with a random stop in Kanab, UT for the night

 Today we left the Grand Canyon. Our Desert view campground was nicer than I expected. It was nice and peaceful and even without electric we were able to stay cool enough to get a good nights rest. Today we weren't sure where we should go. We are heading towards Yellowstone and will stop in Park City, UT for a couple days. I did a good chunk of driving today until we got to Page, AZ again. We looked into kayaking Antelope Canyon, but it wasn't available. We decided to go to a different part of Lake Powell and go swimming. It was much more secluded and less beachlike, but we had a great time. The water felt so nice compared to the 109℉!! We tried running the generator to cool the back of the camper off as we drove, but it kept shutting off. The error code had lots of options for what could be wrong, but one option is that it got too hot (120℉) which is probably completely accurate. Day 23: Bike the Green trail, hike 3 miles of Bright Angel trail and campground issues...in the Grand Canyon

 Today we headed back into the park and parked near the visitor center. We left the generator running for Dexter and took our bikes to the Green trail heading for Bright Angel trail to hike.  You can hike the Bright Angle trail all the way down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. We knew that for every step we went down we had to come back up and it was really hot. So we decided to do a few miles.  You can see the trail wind down the canyon from this view.  We had to go through this tunnel on the trail.  Dylan posing in the tunnel.  We hiked down to the water and rest area where we took a quick rest in the shade then realized if we waited any longer we would be behind the mule tour that was heading back up the canyon. So we made it our mission to stay in front of the mules. We are proud to say we beat them! They kept taking breaks. Day 22: Page, AZ, Horseshoe Bend and drive to Grand Canyon

On our way out of Page, AZ we stopped at Horseshoe Bend which is part of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Due to our unplanned addition at this time we felt lucky we could get a place to stay over the holiday weekend and were hopeful we could rent kayaks and paddle Horseshoe Bend or Antelope Canyon, but of course they were all sold out. Antelope Canyon was on our list, but it is tribal and they didn't open it this year. However, we did find out you can get into Antelope Canyon by water. But with it being 4th of July weekend we were unable to do that as well.  Our pre-hike selfie:)  This is what it looks like as you make the hike out to the overlook.  Then it opens up to this beautiful sight!
